Journal of Medical Physics

JOURNAL OF MEDICAL PHYSICS is the official journal of Association of Medical Physicists of India (AMPI). The association has been bringing out a quarterly publication since 1976. Till the end of 1993, it was known as Medical Physics Bulletin, which then became Journal of Medical Physics. The main objective of the Journal is to serve as a vehicle of communication to highlight all aspects of the practice of medical physics. The areas covered include all aspects of the application of physics to biological sciences, radiotherapy, radiodiagnosis, nuclear medicine, radiation dosimetry and radiation protection. Manuscripts dealing with the aspects of physics related to cancer therapy / radiobiology also fall within the scope of the journal. Apart from the original research work, papers which are of practical importance to medical physicists e.g., those describing practices (performance and quality assurance tests, clinical investigations and follow-ups with novel ideas), radiation accidents and emergencies are also published in the journal. Reviews of other publications (e.g., ICRP / ICRU reports) also find a place in the journal.

JOURNAL OF MEDICAL PHYSICS publishes articles broadly concerned with the application of experimental or theoretical physics to human health care. Contributions are generally in the categories of Editorial, state-of-the-art Review Article, Original Article, Scientific and Technical Notes, Letter to the Editor and Conference Reports.Book Review including reviews / abstract of PhD thesis of AMPI member and News section are also aimed to be regular columns of the journal. All papers are peer reviewed. The Board of Editors constitutes internationally known medical physicists from both developing and developed countries. Authors are invited to send their manuscripts to the Editor-in-Chief. All efforts are made to provide a copy of the journal to the members of the Association. To overcome the hindrances of postal deliveries, JMP is published simultaneously online. This has enabled to reach a much wider readership the world over. The process of online handling of the manuscripts right from the submission to the final decision and publication has not only minimized the delays between the receipts of the manuscripts and their publication but also attracted and encouraged the authors to choose Journal of Medical Physics (JMP) for publication.
